About

I graduated from Boston University in 1994 with a dual degree in journalism and photojournalism. In the early 2000s I attended a graphic design program at MassArt in Boston. While there I took an elective course in painting and fell in love with the medium. However, I didn’t start painting regularly until 2011. I started attending the adult open studio sessions at Follow Your Art in Melrose, MA and with encouragement from owner Kris Rodolico, worked hard to develop my painting skills. It snowballed from there, I have attended several workshops in various techniques since then, and here I am today as a full-time mixed media artist. I would consider myself as an emerging artist, working to define my style. I am self-taught and work in a variety of media – acrylic, oils, cut paper, printmaking – I like experimentation. I mostly paint abstractly but will occasionally paint in a more realistic style. I frequently like to combine a few styles in one piece.

I've shown my work with the Coffee Shop Artists in September 2018 at the Beebe Estate in Melrose and in March 2019 at Commerce Place in Malden. I have been a part of exhibits at the Melrose Public Library in 2019 and I have had work exhibited in the Committee exhibit at both the 2018 and 2019 Melrose Arts in April Festival at Memorial Hall. I have also participated in the Melrose Arts Window Art Walk each fall starting in 2017.
